Rail Transport
Rail transport is one of the most popular kinds of transport in Ukraine. Due to its reliability, regularity, opportunity to carry cargos and passangers irrespective of the season of the year and weather conditions, it is widely used on both internal and international levels.
Along with all its advantages, rail transport also has some problems.
Among these problems:
- due to the high fuel consumption by the engine of the locomotive, the expenses on fuel make up a significant part of the company's budget;
- inability to determine the actual fuel consumption;
- lack of professionalism and skills of the locomotive brigades, leading to excessive fuel consumption;
- careless attitude of the workers to the vehicle;
- improper use of fuel.
Profitability of the enterprise largely depends on the correct solution to these problems. Since expenses on fuel make up the biggest part of the company's budget, a special attention should be paid to the issues of fuel saving.
How to save fuel?
The important task of fuel saving can be solved in many different ways. Nowadays, the market offers a big variety of systems, whose main task is to control and economize fuel, such as fuel sensors, fuel meters of various types (e.g. rotary, turbine, screw, ultrasonic, etc.). Some of them even have advantages over the fuel meters of "AquaMetro AG", but they are originally designed for large volumes of fuel and much more expensive.
We are not going to deceive you with false percentage of savings, since we “do not sell the panacea for theft”, but introduce an accurate, functional and reliable instrument for complete transport control with a guarantee of the characteristics claimed - highly accurate fuel meters from the world leading manufacturer of measuring equipment, the Swiss company "AquaMetro AG"!
The economic effect of the introduction of fuel meters of "AquaMetro" consists of the following components:
- prevention of diesel fuel theft from locomotives;
- effective monitoring of technical condition of the locomotive, on time repair of the engine and, as a result, prevention of excessive fuel consumption;
- taking organizational and operational measures to ensure rational use of every locomotive on separate routs and production areas;
- dicrease of fuel consumption due to introduction of the system of norms.
As practice shows, awarding the drivers that drive the locomotive in the optimal mode thus saving fuel, helps to set an example for other drivers and to motivate them to save fuel as well.
Disadvantages of the fuel meter:
- it requires interference into the fuel system of the vehicle.
The fuel meter does not affect the effectiveness of operation of the vehicle or the capacity of the engine, since pressure drop in the meter is minimal, which can in no way be reflected on operation of the vehicle.
Application of fuel meters of "AquaMetro" makes it impossible to use fuel of the enterprise for personal needs of the employees. If before the installation of the meter similar cases were common, after you install the meter the workers might be dissatisfied, up to deliberate demage of devices, their breaking or obstruction. Thus, it is a good decision to start introduction of the fuel control systems with the mechanical fuel meters. They have reasonable prices and a very high quality. The data on fuel consumption can be read directly from the device, that is why no additional equipment is needed. Later, for improvement of the operation process and for more convenient data reading from all the vehicles with fuel meters at one time, it is possible to switch to more advances models of meters with their connection to GPS-systems.
