Sea and River Transport

Modern waterway transport carries a very big part of cargos in the world.

Water transport is also extremely beneficial inside the country - especially such full of rivers and waterways country as Ukraine. River and sea transport (including transportation by vessels of the type «river - sea») is far more profitable than railway and motor transport.

Transportation companies that use sea and river vessels, face some challenges:

  • inability to control the actual fuel consumption;
  • inability to determine the actual fuel consumption by separate engines;
  • application of fuel writing off norms, which do not correspond the reality;
  • improper use of fuel by the staff;
  • significant errors in values while transferring large volumes of liquid.

Fuel consumption is one of the most significant parts of expenses of every  ship owner.

How to save fuel?

     The important task of fuel saving can be solved in many different ways. Nowadays, the market offers a big variety of systems, whose main task is to control and economize fuel, such as fuel sensors, fuel meters of various types (e.g. rotary, turbine, screw, ultrasonic, etc.). Some of them even have advantages over the fuel meters of "AquaMetro AG", but they are originally designed for large volumes of fuel and much more expensive.

    We are not going to deceive you with false percentage of savings, since we “do not sell the panacea for theft”, but introduce an accurate, functional and reliable instrument for complete transport control with a guarantee of the characteristics claimed - highly accurate fuel meters from the world leading manufacturer of measuring equipment, the Swiss company "AquaMetro AG"!

Fuel measurement system allows the following procedures:

  • to control the actual fuel consumption;
  • to control fuel consumption by separate engines;
  • to get data on fuel consumption with high accuracy;
  • to get data on fuel consumption in liters, gallons or kg/m3;
  • to get information on time and mode of operation of the engine;
  • to control the volume of fuel (black oil) in tanks.

As practise shows, introduction of fuel measurement systems on ships helps to see the actual fuel consumption by every separate engine and the vehicle in general. This, in its turn, allows to determine the optimal mode of operation of the engines, which helps to increase their service life.

Diasdvantages of the fuel meter:

The fuel meter does not affect the effectiveness of operation of the vehicle and the capacity of the engine, since pressure drop in the meter is minimal it can in no way be reflected on the operation of the vehicle.

  • It requires interference into the fuel system of the vehicle.

The optimal solution for fuel control on the vessel is installation of a separate fuel meter on every separate engine with their further connection to GPS system. This will allow to remotely control fuel consumption by the system in general, and by separate engines; to get data on engine operation modes; to see the routs of the vessel.
